samantha_ljMay. 18th, 2007 11:07 pm Announcing....

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to announce that the May issue of Indie Searchlight is up and operational. New writers, new artists, and a look into their worlds. I hope that you'll stop by and check it out.

Also, we're always looking for new talent to feature and will be accepting submissions for our June and July issues starting next week so check out the submission guidelines while you're there. Who wouldn't like a little publishing credit on their resume?

Anyway, check us out!

samantha_ljFeb. 14th, 2007 03:11 pm A Call For Submissions

I’m calling all writers and artists. We need content.

This is all E-format. Publishing credit is the compensation for smaller pieces, however right now, we will be compensating with some free subscriptions to our portfolio service and the webzine itself.

The webzine and content is geared for creative people. Write for other writers, create art for other artists, inspire, entertain, and generally allow your personality to shine through. We are seeking short to moderate length fiction, articles on the creative lifestyles, and other informative articles on issues pertaining to the creative arts.

While currently we’re only accepting shorter pieces, from 500-10,000 words , we will be accepting some longer fiction in the near future for e-book publications. We are not limiting genre but are targeting an alternative and artistic audience. We are most interested in fantasy, mystery, horror, and literary works that fall under experimental genre categories.

In artwork, we are looking for pieces that are of high quality and resolution. Images must be sent in .jpg format at the moment and full credit will be given to artists as well as a non-monetary compensation package. The same genre preferences apply to artwork as writing. However, we do not limit ourselves to those genres.

Writers and artists making the cut for the first month’s issue will be guaranteed a feature piece and limited-time free subscription. Email and telephone interviews will be conducted for the feature pieces.

This call is preliminary to a formal announcement. As the site is still in development and will not be functional for another week and a half. However, we are gathering content so that we can publish our first issue and start the ball rolling.
Send a general synopsis and/or description of what you wish to submit to me at samantha_branham @ yahoo.com. If it is something we feel will want to further review I will respond as quickly as is possible to all queries.

Thanks in advance,
~Samantha
